Bert Lozada Foundation together with Junior Chamber International Manila once again facilitated another successful project for Drown-Free Nation Program, “Project Hero”.
Project Hero was launched last November 17, 2018, at Andalucia Sports Complex at Governor Forbes, Santa Cruz, Manila. It is the first-ever project of the program Drown-Free Nation that held 10-day free swimming lessons.
With the help and coordination with the City of Manila and Division of City Schools, 200 students from Juan Sumulong Elementary School was chosen to be the first beneficiary of Project Hero.
“Ang goal namin is to be able to make the Philippines a drown-free nation. So yung pinaka main goal ng Bert Lozada Foundation is to equip yung mga people na hindi kayang mag bayad ng swimming lessons.” (Our goal is to be able to make the Philippines a drown free nation. So the main goal of Bert Lozada Foundation is to equip people who can’t afford swimming lessons.)
Angelo Lozada, COO of Bert Lozada Foundation
This project aims to change the lives of the underprivileged children by teaching them a lifesaving skill through swimming. Bert Lozada Foundation and JCI Manila believe that by giving free swimming lessons, these children will soon be the Heroes that we need to achieve a Drown-Free Philippines.
